Rhodes (Greek: Ρόδος, Ródos [ˈroðos]) is the principal city and a former municipality on the island of Rhodes in the Dodecanese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Rhodes, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit.[2] It has a population of approximately 50,000 inhabitants (near 90,000 in its metropolitan area). Rhodes has been famous since antiquity as the site of Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The citadel of Rhodes, built by the Hospitalliers, is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe, which in 1988 was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The day before departure to Rhodes

today we must have packed everything for the flight to Rhodes, Greece
that is quite a job if you can only take one piece of hand luggage with you because we have booked a holiday flight … so stuff it

after an hour or two we gathered everything together, we managed to get everything in the suitcase
now everything still has to be charged for the trip such as Phones, laptops and tablets

I have to go to sleep now, because tomorrow we have to go to the airport on time

Departure from Schiphol airport

Schiphol Airport(AMS)

Today we left for Rhodes. We had to drive to the airport ourselves because that is nice and easy, but upon arrival at the parking lot I found out that my wallet was still at home so we drove back home. This was successful because I had decided to go to the airport at 1:00 PM as a precaution. However, we would not have done this. Had we missed our flight! and that would have been quite unpleasant as the start of a wonderful holiday. once in the repetition of driving to the airport we could finally check in! Well, I had already done this online, but of course something went wrong again. and we had to check in our hand luggage anyway. because we were only allowed to take one piece of hand luggage, and we also had a personal item. This was confusing as I was always used to not counting a personal item, luckily this could not be rectified (at no cost) and we were finally able to get to the Gate. Where unfortunately we still have to wait an hour. This is because we thought that some Covid-19 actions still needed to be done. However, this turned out not to be the case. After an hour we were allowed to board the plane and 20 minutes later we were already on our way to a wonderful sun holiday
